Auditions
There are many resources that will offer to help you find acting auditions in your local area. Auditioning is the most nightmarish process imaginable for casting a project, but it's the only one we have. Unless you're already a hot commodity in the industry, you're going to have to audition.

Schools
Even some of the best actors that are born with outstanding talent have to study and practice for every role. Some actors will never get the part because they lack the training and experience. Many professional actors take acting classes or hire acting coaches for every role they play.

Photographers
A black and white photograph of a person's head is considered standard acting headshot. An 8x10 headshot is often thought of as "the actor's business card", for the serious actor professional, aspiring actor or otherwise, an actual headshot is one of the most critical tools.

Representation
There are many different types of agents for different types of talent. The main types are theatrical (Television and Film) and commercial (for commercials). There are also dance, print, voice-over,etc. Your agent may represent you for one or more of these categories. A good talent agent can make or break you.
